Your members built companies that still run through them.

Keynotes and workshops for owners of home service companies who are ready to stop being the answer to every question.

The rooms I Help

HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, remodeling, landscaping, painting, pest, cleaning and restoration owners. They've been in business for years. They have a crew, trucks and an office. And when they leave for a week, the phone comes with them.

Most of what they hear at events is how to sell more, price better or hire faster. This talk is about the one thing none of that fixes: the owner. I'm not here to teach your members their trade. They know it better than I do. I coach the part nobody trained them for: leading a company that doesn't need them in every decision.

The Talks

Each talk can be shaped for your theme. Owners who want to go deeper can take the free Ceiling Diagnostic after the session, offered only with your approval. I don't pitch from stage.

Stuck Behind the Owner

Known, Not Just You

Stop Being the Answer

A company can't outgrow the person every call runs through. This talk names the four rungs every owner stands on (Climbing, Known, Free, Owned) and the three ceilings that hold them there: decisions only they make, a team that waits for them, and an identity built on being needed.

Owners leave with:

  • The rung they're on today, named in plain words

  • The one ceiling holding them there

  • The first decision to hand off on Monday

When customers ask for the owner by name, the company is worth less than it looks. This talk is about building a name bigger than yours: the reviews, the crew and the reputation that carry the company when you're not on the job.

Owners leave with:

  • A way to see whose name their customers are really buying

  • What shifts when the company becomes the brand

  • One thing to stop doing personally this quarter

The hands-on version. Owners list every call that still lands on their desk, sort which ones only they should make, and decide who takes the rest. Best for leadership retreats, peer groups and chapter workshops where owners can work, not just listen.

Owners leave with:

  • Their own list of the calls they still make

  • A short list of the calls that move to someone else, and to whom

  • The conversation to have with that person this week

About Kevin

Kevin Hoover is the owner's coach for home service companies. He has coached business owners on leadership and growth for 11 years. He's not there to teach anyone their trade. Systems leverage your team. Kevin leverages the owner, so the company runs without them and is worth more when it does.

He hosts The Owner's Ladder, a show where home service owners talk about what holds them on their rung. He runs his own coaching company with AI agents instead of a team as well as a digital content media company that started as an AI based business, which means he practices the leverage he teaches.

Speaker intro (for the emcee, about 60 words)

"Our next speaker has coached business owners on leadership and growth for 11 years. He doesn't teach the trade. He coaches the owner. He hosts The Owner's Ladder, where home service owners talk about building companies that run without them. His work starts with one question: what would happen if you stopped answering your phone for a week? Please welcome Kevin Hoover."
